I look at you and see
the summated contortions of a sick phylogeny
You I cannot blame
culture speaks to me through you
You are trapped in your shell
I, in my cocoon
You are too scared to venture out
Me , on the verge of metamorphosis
Can we meet someplace
Each of us just ourselves
Free from all encumbrances and emotional baggage
A moment in eternity is all I ask
One does not need a rainbow daily!!
One memory, one fusion, one union, one embrace
Of our true selves
Then each can get wrapped
In our never ending destinies
Our expectations don't match
You expected a wife according to your cultural stereotype fantasy,
I'm sorry I couldn't be your Stepford Wife
I was alive, pulsating, feeling and thinking
I hadn't been reared to be a rubber Barbie doll
A walkie talkie you can switch on and off with a key
You have to know that a wife operates independent of you too
You can't play God and expect emotions
For all God gets is dead offering
The best of our emotions are shared with friends, with people.
If you can come down on my plane
maybe then we can interact
Until then each of us id deaf
Your screaming from the skies
Me crying from the pitch
Both unheard, lost in the space inbetween.
You lonely in your kingdom
me lonely in my cell
You descend from your heaven
And I'll ascend from my hell
I'll support you when you fall
and you pull me up when I crawl
Let us touch each other and discover for ourselves
what each has to offer without any covers
Like the gynoecium and androecium
enclosed, protected, safe in the flowery colors of nature
But
Our differences widen...
now we are like two ends never meeting
You are too insecure to give, too scared to open your fist
I am too afraid to take, a closed fist is claustrophobic
And Yet we stay on together for eternity
