I see the horse, descendant of the Unicorn and feel her plight
Domesticated into submission with no respite
Willingly enduring pain and death to save another’s life
She lovingly munches the sugar cube…. Her master lovingly threw
Content and satisfied with no unease for her equitable dues
I watch her habituated, conditioned to the blinds
Comfortably reined in by the stirrups and binds
Amazed I exclaim Wow!!!
You don’t seem a horse but more a cow!!
You once were free
Roaming in the wilds, the forest your territory
Now where is your Speed, Strength, Grace, Power, Beauty
All you do is only your duty
All you show are your mundane qualities
Was your magical strength a mythic deplorability?
You were Pegasus sacred to the Muses and Divinity
From your hoof sprang fountains of poetry and creativity
You gave birth to ephemeral dreams
You gave birth to folk tales and legends
You were the water, you were the fire
You were the wind…the endless desire
You symbolized virility
You were fertility and vitality
You stormed the earth independently
You resisted being tamed and harnessed so effortlessly
Now look at you so feeble and subdued
Where is your fiery wild self I ridiculed?
The horse looks at me lovingly and smiles
You are not tracing mine but projecting your own life
The trajectory is not mine alone..it is yours to the bone
Both You and I have traversed a similar destiny
You and I have been the sacrificial object from eternity
You and I have relinquished our freedom for humanity
You and I have bent our wills and surrendered our warrior spirit
You and I epitomize faithfulness and loyalty to man and his merits
But now the time is ripe to undertake a journey of rights…
Travel within your self to discover who you are….
The tear that rolled down her eyes met mine in a place not far
You and I need to rewrite future history
Pull our energy and spirit from purgatory
And make living a part of our daily realm
And from our disconnected world of enchanted dreams
Find and resurrect once again the resplendent UNICORN within

My dear reflector garu,
Greetings.
First let me congratulate for scripting an excellent poem. The form and choice of words is indeed suprb, so is the imagery.
I waited for some time to comment as I had some disagreement. Although there is all round praise for ur poem I thought I must show where I disagree with U.
Woman had never been wild and free like a horse right from the beginning. Burdened with the responsibility to procreate and further the progress of mankind she had always been dependent upon the man unfortunately. While the horse definetely resisted being tamed and harnessed the same cannot be said of a woman. On the contrary she always sought protection of the strong bodied man. It is only recently she had been her shackles and gaining independence. Anyway I cant imagine a woman as a wild horse. This is not due to any gender bias but a mere statement of fact and sympathy for the lot of women through ages.
My lone comment doesn't reduce the grandeur of ur poem anyway.
Ramarao.
